Playing Time Table

The following table summarizes the time periods and penalties for the various age classifications in our area. The period and overtime entries indicate the maximum time, while the penalty time entries indicate the maximum time (not required) for each penalty type. (The time for each penalty type is the time outlined in the USA Hockey Rulebook.) Overtime periods shall not be allowed except in tournaments where the advancement of a team depends on the determination of a winner, such as a semi-final or a championship game.

Note: When numbers are used in the Level, the number is an age bracket when used with “-or-under” (such as “14-or-under”), and the number is a playing time category when used with “-min,” such as “Men’s 18-min.”
